Seattle’s Best Pan-Asian Restaurant
Wild Ginger. A Seattle classic, since 1989.
I have been dining here with my family for over 20 years, no joke. We love this place. After all these years, it is still our
To Drink
- Mango Daiquiri. Feel transported to a tropical oasis with this sweet thang. I’ve been drinking these for the last 20 years as well. Granted, most of these years they were virgin daiquiris, but honestly, with or without the rum, you have to get one.
- Cracked Coconut Martini. If you aren’t a fan of mango, which is possible, and you still want to be transported away to an oasis, this is your next best bet.
To Start
- Peasant’s Chicken w. peanut dipping sauce
- Kobe Beef. Nuff said.
These lovelies come with sides of sticky rice and pickled vegetables as palate cleansers. Do not pass them up. I know that those rice and veggies might look like decoration and maybe they kind of are decoration for the plate. But just know that they are delicious décor that is meant to be consumed.
To Eat
- Fragrant Duck. Don’t like duck? Get over it. Order this and you will fall in love with it. You get these soft, fluffy buns on the side. Make sure to order extra buns, they never give you enough to start. To assemble: Grab a bun. Slather on a hefty amount of plum sauce. Pluck off some fresh cilantro leaves and lay them to rest. Seal it all together with a warm, tender piece of duck. Girl, you will bite into that thing and have fireworks going off in your mouth. Warm tasty duck buns. Sounds funny. Nothing is funny about these things. You might shed a tear from all the flavors.
- Sichuan Green Beans. Spicy? You got it. Salty? Oh yeah. Garlicky? Mmhhmm. I know green beans don’t sound fun, but they are def fun when you put the word Sichuan in front and eat them here.
- Not pictured but also worthwhile: Thai Prawn Satay, Seven Flavor Beef, Black Pepper Scallops, Peanut & Fresh Herbs Sea Bass.
