The Masonry; a Lower Queen Anne gem.
Things that The Masonry in Seattle promises: Beer. Pizza.
They deliver.
I have been wanting to visit The Masonry for a few years now. I have walked by this Seattle pizza joint so many times and smelled the fresh pizza dough outside. All of those times, I had already eaten, or I wasn’t hungry.
This time, I was going to McCaw Hall for a Pacific Northwest Ballet performance, and I knew that The Masonry was in the same neighborhood. Tonight, was the night I would come face to face with their beer and pizza.
We walked in, 3 spots at the bar open on a Friday night
Quick service; we were handed menu’s, given beer recommendations and our order was taken.
What did we order?
- Beer.
- Pizza.
- … did you really expect anything else besides that? Well actually, we did order a side of pickled veggies just because they sounded good. And they were great. You should probably get them too.
Before our pizza came out, we opted for some pickled veggies. Served up in a mason jar. A little sweet, a little spicy. Hey, for $3.50 you can’t go wrong with homemade pickled vegetables.
This place may be small and quirky, but the beer and pizza that they serve is top quality.
No crap beer here; their beer is craft, to say the least. Beers you have never heard of. Beers that you will fall in love with because they are delicious.
The pizza dough is SO light, SO soft, you feel like you’re biting into a fresh piece of bread.
The Masonry is grunge. The Masonry is Seattle before the techies got here to take over. The Masonry is serving up great pizza and awesome beer. Check it out.
