Seattle’s Specialty Grappa Bar
There’s one of two Grappa groups. Either 1. You love Grappa and you’ve been looking for a Grappa bar in Seattle. OR… 2. You have no idea what Grappa is but you’re intrigued by the cute name.
Grappa. I walked in and I was so overwhelmed by how gorgeous this place was. Industrial lights, copper trim, deep dark wood, fresh flowers, and candles left for hours on end as their wax melts naturally over the edges. I liked this place already.
I walked in and went straight to the bar. Whenever I get the chance, I always sit at the bar. You get a more intimate experience; you talk with the bartender, you tend to get better service, faster service, and you get to watch them concoct all the lovely drinks. Heck, sometimes the bartender even offers you a free drink!
If you’re like me, then you didn’t know (until now) that Grappa is not just the name of this bar and restaurant but is actually a specialty spirit. Grappa is made from the skins, seeds, and stems of the grapes that remain after the winemaking process is complete. Grappa is essentially the leftovers. It is also known as an acquired taste, and unrelated in flavor to anything else.
I decided if I was at Grappa, I was going to jump right into it and order some Grappa. As a connoisseur of the classic gin and tonic drink, I spotted a Grappa Tonic on the menu. An acquired taste, it is indeed. A great drink to sip. Would I recommend it? Maybe. Maybe next time I’ll venture out and do a Grappa flight. Maybe I’ll try a fancier Grappa cocktail with more flavor profiles going on. Who knows. But I do know that I will be back. Maybe I’ll see you there.
P.s. We came to Grappa for the cocktails, so I cannot vouch for the food. I will come back and try it and when I do i’ll be more than happy to add a section to this post for you.
