Finished a little thing called grad school and got Finished a little thing called grad school and got myself a graduation gift. As I drove home on I-5, smiling ear to ear, I told myself “I’m proud of you” and let me tell you, saying those words out loud to yourself and acknowledging the hard work you’ve put in to get where you are is a powerful thing. Hard work pays off and dang, it feels good.
Masters of Public Administration, MPA🎓 When I d Masters of Public Administration, MPA🎓 When I decided to enroll in graduate school, I knew it was going to be hard, but I think I truly underestimated the level of commitment it would take, and during my entire program, brushed it under the rug. Now that I’ve graduated and have my degree, I cannot believe that I worked full time in a rigorous role, while also pursuing a graduate degree. For the past 3 years I spent many days working until 5pm, then going to class from 5:30-8:30pm and coming home exhausted & hungry, only to spend my free time studying for my next exam or writing my next Policy Memo. I am incredibly thankful to my friends & family for their support and understanding of all the times I said I couldn’t hang out because I had homework. And I am especially thankful for my husband, @kalebm44 who picked up my slack around the house, took @phinney.the.irishdoodle for all the walks she deserves and made me countless breakfasts, lunches, & dinners even when I said I wasn’t hungry (even though we know I was). I have so many thoughts, a lot of emotions, and plenty of moments to reflect back upon but for now, I’m going to go take a nap, and try to catch up on what it feels like to be a normal adult again.

Tips for visiting the @seattlechristmas this holi Tips for visiting the @seattlechristmas this holiday season which I would 10/10 would recommend

Top things to do:
•Show up early if you can (before 5pm) to beat the lines and crowds
•Take photos! There were sooo many photo oops everywhere
•Eat! Avoid the long lines for the raclette & potato tornado and try one of the other food stalls! We really enjoyed the Ukrainian family-owned dumpling shop🥟 & also grabbed some delicious soup to warm us up on chilly night.
•Look up & Listen! The live music on the second story of the main building holds a local band that plays Christmas music. It was so fun to stop & watch them play their instruments live🎻🎷🥁
•Shop local! There were so many fun local small businesses represented here and we had so much fun interacting with the owners of the shops.
•Drink a cup or 2 of the mulled wine (21+) It was truly some of the best we’ve ever had.

You can buy tickets online ahead of time for about $20 or there’s a ticket booth on-site if you’re more a spur of the moment market goer.

Have so much fun!

San Francisco❤️🌁The vacation we’d been ta San Francisco❤️🌁The vacation we’d been talking about for years finally came to fruition and we loved every single moment we had in this city. Whether it was experiencing the history of Alcatraz, enjoying an Irish coffee (or 2) at The Buena Vista Cafe, driving Big Sur, attending a Giants game⚾️, admiring Lombard street, walking from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge, or perusing the various offerings of North Beach, we had an absolute blast and I can promise that we’ll be back.
