Date night in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle
I usually shy away from cheap sushi.
If there’s one thing you don’t want to cheap out on, it’s sushi.
Musashi’s is the exception.
I was hesitant at first, but after seeing their thousands of reviews, and speaking with friends that have been going here for years with no i
We walked in at the perfect time, a table was readily available, and no one was waiting. We managed to arrive just before the dinner rush. This is an important thing to time right because this sushi joint has at most, 15 tables inside. And most of them are 2-tops. Do not even think about coming here as a large party. And if you are thinking about it, then know that you will not be sitting together at the same table.
The restaurant is cramped. We sat down at our table, and I was a bit concerned. The table on our left was a mere 2 inches from ours. Basically, they pulled the tables apart to the point that they weren’t touching anymore. This created a tiny illusion that we were not sharing a table with our neighbors. Realistically, we heard 100% of their conversation and easily could have reached over to help ourselves to their food. And honestly, I thought this was going to be the worst thing ever… Until I got over myself.
A few minutes in, I was settled and able to enjoy the experience. Being in this tiny restaurant, with seemingly too many tables crammed together made me realize how much space other restaurants take up and waste. While this restaurant may have been a little too small, it changed my perspective on other restaurants. It is crazy how much unused, wasted space is going around. Do we really need multiple feet between tables in restaurants?
Probably not…
Anywho, on to the food.
Miso soup is complimentary.
& Miso is always a great way to warm up on a chilly evening.
The sushi is cheap.
And I mean, really cheap.
I could actually afford to eat sushi here once a week if I wanted to.
But I won’t.
Because it also wasn’t the highest quality sushi I’ve had.
It wasn’t awesome, it wasn’t terrible, but it was decent.
I got what I paid for and I am content with that.
Time for Dessert!
We were in Wallingford, and if you’re familiar with the main strip in Wallingford,
then you know there’s a Molly Moon’s ice cream shop here.
Molly Moon’s is my favorite.
Did our ice cream cost as much as our dinner? Almost.
And that is okay; it’s all about balance, right?
A cheap dinner +an expensive dessert= a perfect equation.
My flavor choice? Melted chocolate, all the way, every single time.
