In the wild, Nests aren’t usually the easiest to spot; they are high up and out of sight. But they are such a beautiful treat to the eye when spotted. In the middle of the city, The Nest isn’t the easiest to spot; it is high up and out of sight. But it is such a beautiful treat when you do finally spot it. I have been here a few times now, and still, have a little trouble finding it. But I guess that makes it partly worth it; a little bit of effort can bring great reward.

Tips and tricks to enjoying your time at The Nest:

0.) Check in at the table downstairs. See that guy/ gal standing at the valet stand? They’re your person. Check in here! You can’t just head up the elevator, willy-nilly. Do not pass go, do not collect $5 or $10 or $200. You need to stop and check in first, downstairs. When they are ready for you, they will take you up to The Nest.

1.) On weekdays, show up before 5 PM and you’ll get a great table. Everyone (including you, now) knows how great this place is. If you want a table with a view, you best ask your boss to leave work early to head up here. If you’re on vacation, even better! Come up a few minutes after they open and you’ll get to choose your own table.

2.) Don’t bother coming on weekends without a reservation. Seriously. It is a madhouse. It won’t have that amazing effect on you that it was meant to. Please plan your trip here so you can truly experience the magic that The Nest has to offer.

3.) Order some snacks and share w/ your friends. My favorites: Chicken Satay… Prawns… Shishito Peppers…

4.) Spend the money. Is it a little spendy? Sure. But you’re drinking amazing handcrafted cocktails on a freaking rooftop with an amazing view. Take in the view of Pikes Place AND The Olympic Mountain Range.

5.) Bring out of towners here (21+). Yup, you read that right. It is a bar after all.

6.) More than 4 of you? Order a Flamingo to drink. A little goes a long way. Makes for cute pictures. There are 2 flavors. We always opt for the Holy Flamingo: absolut elyx, rum, cognac, pineapple, lime, rooibos honey syrup, Perrier jouet brut. Not too sweet. Not too fizzy. Juuuuuust right.

7.) Take a few pictures. Then, put your damn phone away. Open your eyes and enjoy that view.
